      Kifaru House

      A Haven of Luxury In the Bush

      Kifaru, (Swahili for 'rhino'), is nestled on a hilltop in the middle of the beautiful Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Kenya. Kifaru can comfortably accommodate up to a dozen guests in the highest style. Each bedroom is situated in a spacious banda (hut), each equipped with a mini bar, direct dial telephone, Wi-Fi, wardrobes and sitting and writing areas. The en suite bathrooms have generous shower areas and the master banda has a bathtub and outside shower. Guests convene in a spacious central building that houses the dining and sitting rooms, with a fully-stocked bar, two large fireplaces and plenty of places to curl up with a book. A covered outside terrace furnished with comfortable sofas and armchairs provides a place for al fresco dining and a great point from which to watch the setting sun. Activities on offer include day and night game drives, bird watching, nature walks with knowledgeable guides, sundowners, bush breakfasts, walks along the canopies and waterfalls in the Ngare-Ndare forest, visits to local villages, horseback and camel riding, visits to the archaeological site, and educational talks on the history & day-to-day operation of the conservancy. Some of these may have an additional cost.
